Your speakers may not be sensitive enough - they are listed at 94db, but they could be much lower (the RP600m has a spec of 97db, but they are only 89db in reality). The 6wpc of the MP 301 might not be quite enough to power them. In addition, if the impedance curve of the KG4 rises significantly in the treble region, tube amps will often sound bright or tipped up.
Musical Paradise mp301 sounds bright
For just one month now I have owned and enjoyed a Musical Paradise mp301 tube amp with the basic stock tubes. It very adequately powers my Klipsch kg4 speakers. In almost all respects it is an excellent amp. Tonality, sound stage, bass, etc. are great. But one thing about my amp/speaker combo I find that I don't like; the treble on many of my CDs is too sharp or bright. This may be the fault of my Klipsch speakers or maybe the amp is so revealing that it exposes sharp recordings. Has anyone else had this experience? Should I look into different speakers? Maybe buy a Schitt Loki to tame the treble? Any ideas would be considered.
