Moon, Simaudio Service


I don't listen to headphones often, but I have a Moon / Simaudio 430HA headphone amplifier for when I do. It's a fantastic amp and incredibly transparent. This component has a small sliding window on the front panel that opens to reveal connections for balanced cans. Over time, that window became sticky and eventually became stuck.

I called the dealer where I bought the product and the dealer sent an email to Simaudio (copying me) asking for guidance. Moon responded promptly with a request that it be returned for service which would be covered by warranty. This unit is out of warranty so that's quite a gesture.

Moon also provided a domestic address for me to ship the unit to, sparing me from any potential customs issues that might arise from shipping it to Canada from the States. 

I shipped the amp on 6/27 and it arrived at my house direct from Canada yesterday, 7/22. I think that's fantastic service. It was also returned to me with new and improved inner and outer boxes - all at no charge.

Moon now joins the club of those who have delivered excellent service to me over the years: Audio Research, McIntosh, Bryston, VPI. For me, this is part of the high end experience.

I used to own a 430HA, nice headphone amp. I always wondered if that little sliding piece could be a problem down the road. It is well built and I did like the way it covers the unused headphone jacks, but still.

It's always nice to hear when a company takes great care of someone. That's what separates the greats from the mediocre. Most people will probably never have to do something like that but when it does come up, you hope to be dealing with one of those brands you mentioned rather than some random flavor of the month brand with no track record.

I have owned SimAudio products and always found them to be extremely well built and well designed. Good to hear that their service matches the quality of their Products.

In the best possible way this is no surprise at all . Moon Simaudio provide great customer support and then there is their 10 year warranty!
