@stereo5 and Bose 901 were also “ all the rage “..... but The Music Room has a pair of Tekton for sale now.....perhaps somebody needed quadruple impact tweeters !!!!!!

Well, the newest Tektons use lots of tweeters although not 32 of them and they seem to be all the rage.  Perhaps we are missing out?

 Some of their speakers were actually made in Japan and were kind of lackluster 

I think the peak was probably the XRT series in the correct room with careful attention to placement of the big on wall line sources
i have heard several systems well setup that were pretty musical 2D
iMO the more recent stuff with like 32  per side..tweeters is absurd....

Actually, their speakers have been very successful. 

They have not had much success. Few amplifier manufacturers make speakers successfully - it is a different and far more complex science. ATC (a loudspeaker maker) make amplifiers very successfully using simple discrete designs.
