Mcintosh mc 2500 is it worth the asking price?

Hello, Guy’s and Gal’s in the audiogon world. I need your advice a guy has a mc 2500 for sale and is asking $4,500.00 I have seen it, and it is in clean condition no scratches on the face plate, and he does have the box. I know they were made between 1980’s and 1990’s. is this too much for this amp? and should move on or what is a fair price for this unit in your option, I’m going to meet with him to hear this amp, I have seen picture’s all around the unit and noticed he has changed the fans on the back of the unit. your advice is appreciated. thanks
