Magntar player freezing and stopping

Recently purchased a Magnetar UDP 800 to replace my OPPO.  However, I've been experiencing a number of issues including freezing and stopping when streaming and with playing blu-ray discs.  Sometimes the unit won't turn off using either the remote or the physical button on the player.  To make things worse, their "support" is horrible.  Just directs you to their FAQ section without any help, or just blames everything on your home network.  I am totally disappointed with Magnetar and their service.  Has anyone else experienced problems with their players?

That’s disappointing.  It’s the first negative thing I’ve heard about Magnetar.

  Have you tried unplugging the player and then rebooting?  I have a Pioneer UDP that requires this periodically.

  I know that the Magnetar can be used to stream but that isn’t what I would have bought it for.

  Finally are you using WiFior Ethernet?

Sorry to hear it. This is exactly why I haven't replaced my aging Oppo devices yet. They just work, never a single issue.

Did you try a “System Reset”?  I had an old Sony player that needed one every now and then. Sometimes they don’t put the procedure in the manuals, but I did see it on the web.

I haven't tried a full system reset yet, but I will give that a go.

Full factory reset and re-installation of firmware updates.  Still get the same freezing issues and power on/of problems.  Plugged in my OPPO again, and no issues.  Jeez, why did I even switch?  LOL
