Looking for a CD / SACD player. Also, tell me about Esoteric

It is crystal clear that many of the "experts" above are proud to tout their favorite brands with all the superficial emotion of hitting the lotto jackpot.  To those looking for guiding advice prior to making a substantial purchase, hopefully you will forego the preceding biased self-absorbed nonsense, and instead, add an inexpensive  plane ticket to the cost of your purchase and visit a reputable dealer to audition  whatever brand you may be considering....a smart added cost associated with a $20k CD player purchase.

At the end of the month I will be getting the latest Esoteric K-01XD se.  This will be my absoute end game player for the CD/SACD journey.  I have had some very good player over the years including two Modwright Sony's and Marantz players.  I currently have the Esoteric K-03XD player and had the opportunity to move up the ladder to the latest 01 player with a good deal from my dealer.  The K-03XD has beat all of the players I have had and I think it's due to the new XD dac implementation.

So, if you have to ask, you'll never know. 

In other words, nothing.

I have the McIntosh MCD600. I think it sounds considerably better than my Luxman and OPPO players.

The 600 also has a preamp section so you can go directly to your amps.

Sounds better than going through my Topping Pre90.

Can't recommend the MCD600 highly enough.
