Thank you for so decisively setting the record straight on the lingering Esoteric versus Marantz.  There will always be those who inspite of lacking the budget to purchase truly TOTL luxury items, will nonetheless take backhanded shots at those who can.  Petty envy and jealousy....

It is crystal clear that many of the "experts" above are proud to tout their favorite brands with all the superficial emotion of hitting the lotto jackpot.  To those looking for guiding advice prior to making a substantial purchase, hopefully you will forego the preceding biased self-absorbed nonsense, and instead, add an inexpensive  plane ticket to the cost of your purchase and visit a reputable dealer to audition  whatever brand you may be considering....a smart added cost associated with a $20k CD player purchase.  

ahhh.....the Marantz versus Esoteric debate.  I wonder throughout the high end audio world (and wanna-be high end audio world) if there is a difference in the owners LISTENING ABILITIES (which is very different from "plain old hearing"), in addition to, a difference in bank accounts?  I always see condescension by one of the groups on these threads....
