Hmmmm. I am away, but pretty sure I floated the yellow on my two REL carbon specials with my Audionet amps. Maybe the Krelll is different (fully balanced). I have had to ground the yelllow before…any rear chassis screw works.
fastfreight, thanks for responding. with 2 subs, don't you twist both the red and yellow together, connect to positive speaker left or right, and either float the negative or ground the negative on the chassis for each sub? you threw me a curveball with yellow being taped. i was mostly confused about the negative and idf you floated or grounded on chassis( and which screw you used thanks for your time

Hi @mikepaul , REL has nice little videos on this. Definitely use the high level inputs with the Speakon connection at the sub end. Tap off of the speaker outputs on your amp as shown. I have two subs, and use red to positive and black to negative on the amp’s speaker outputs. The yellow is taped off. One sub to left and one to right. There are separate instructions for using only one sub. On your Duo you can double up with both speaker and sub connected to same output; you can use bare wire on the sub wire, or add banana plugs if your speaker wires are spades etc. The high level connection is the way to go. Then there is a video on adjusting the sub’s phase, roll off and level. I love my REL subs. |
