When I use Kontak cleaner I apply it and if the item being cleaned is appropriate I will use a clean cloth or paper towel and rub with force to clean the surface and get off the grunge that has built up. Obviously, you can’t clean all items that way. BTW; I even clean newly purchased items before I use them, one would be surprised at the grunge that comes off new items. |

Craig makes a few different brushes and swabs that are prefect for this task. Also I can’t find the exact name right now but Music Direct sells a little plastic tool that has a male and female RCA molded on each end to scrub both jack. But be careful I have had them break the male part off, so if you get them don’t use the same one too many times. They are cheap enough to toss after about a dozen connectors. |
I use pipe cleaner q tips and rca male and female tool. You put Kontak on the rca cleaner.I now use Unity Audio Design Signal cleaner pro he gives you twice as much and gives you cleaning tools as well.It works as well as Kontak and comes in a glass bottle so you can see the level of fluid left.Enjoy!! |
@ tattooedtrackman " Thanks....I didnt even think of the electric posts on my amp ,preamp and cdp until it came. I was just thinking about my speaker cable spades and power cable plug ends. I guess you can use it on any metal connections. " I would do one thing and then give it a few days before adding it to other connections. that way if there is a change that is not good, you will know what piece you did. |
" Easy to use, simply apply and allow to dry. Once Kontak has been applied, contact resistance between the connectors drops to virtually nothing, enhancing signal flow and conductivity." https://www.musicdirect.com/equipment/kontak-contact-cleaner-aluminum-bottle " Also can i use it to clean my electric posts on my amp , preamp and cdp?" isnt that what you bought it for ??? |
