Klipsch Cornwall iv loose binding post

What to do? How to fix?

Where I connect the positive red connection won’t tighten down…spinning not tightening as if there exists a loose connection, on the interior of the speaker. Do I need to invade the speaker? How?

I googled a pic and it appears the binding post plate screws may have a torx or star shaped screw.  Just find the right bit, remove the plate, and you should find a loose nut on that post.  Sometimes there is a small projection of the plastic around the metal post that prevents it form spinning.  If that broke you could get a replacement post or just attempt to glue in in place.  Should be an easy fix.

While you are in there tighten them all down.

You need to only use banana plug connectors on your speaker cables. I have this problem on my Forte 4s. If you want to correct the looseness, remove the plate holding the binding posts and tighten the inner nut(s). When all nuts are tight, re-attach the plate to the speaker and use banana plugs.

Thank you so much and I really appreciate our associates here on Audiogon . They can come to the rescue! Thank you, gentlemen, and the fix is fixed.!
