KEF "Q"uestion

I used to sell those.  At the price, there is nothing to complain about, but my recollection of these is they are a mass market model with low cabinet density, cheesy crossover components, and middling sound quality…and an early generation UniQ driver. Our store at the time also sold ADS and Dahlquist, which the staff generally preferred to the C-line KEFs. Those might be rarer or more expensive, but I’d keep looking.

Original equipment crossover parts are almost always cheesy in "popular" loudspeakers. Always use open, air core inductors and at least Mundorf KFP capacitors. Tweeter should be easy if the price is right on the used speakers you intend to purchase.

I didn't care for those speakers compared to the competition. Back then KEF and B&W couldn't seem to shake that traditional conservative 'British" sound and the entire line just sounded kind of dull.
