Since no one here chimed in was advised by marantz it indeed plays dvd audio
Is the marantz 30N or ruby almost a universal player
Hi,
The marantz ruby and newer 30n list as cd/sacd but their literature state that they will play dvd-rom high resolution files burned on a computer so does that mean it will play dvd-r blank disks I compile with 24-96 high resolution files.
Is there a practical difference between dvd-rom and dvd-a?
Why call it dvd-rom compatible rather than a universal player but for bluray?

I think there may have been a miscommunication. That player can't play DVD-Audio (also known as DVD-A) discs. According to the manual the discs it can play are SACD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and DVD-R/-RW/+R/+RW. The file types it can play are MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV, FLAC, Apple Lossless, AIFF, and DSD. All those file types can be played on the various types of writable DVD discs, and all but DSD files can be played on the various types of writable CD discs. For the complete information about resolutions see page 127 of the manual, which I found on the internet. |
