Interconnect & Power Cord f/ Sony SCD-1?

I have a Hot-Rodded SCD-1, and I've been trying different interconnects and power cords. I'm using Harmonic Tech Magic Link intercon. and the Fantasy PC. Any suggestions for a good match w/ the SCD-1. I'm lookng for dynsamics, increased soundstage, & ultimate transparency...Thanks.

Crump is right about the AC polarity on the Sony. Sounds far better reversed. I also use the the Pure Note Cerulean cables which are superior to the old Epsilon Ref. line.

Sonic Genius' Reference Stereo System a/o February 2004:

Martin-Logan Prodigy speakers.
Krell FPB400cX power amp. Modified with IEC power inlet.
Krell KCT preamp.
Sony SCD-1 SACD player.

Sutherland PHD phono preamp (battery).
VPI TNT-HR-X turntable, JMW 12.5 tonearm.
Grado Statement phono cartridge.

Pure Note Cerulean Cables interconnects and speaker cables.

TG Audio power cords.
Danlib1, I only recently went from the Pure Note E.R.s XLRs to the Au24 XLRs (I've already owned the Au24 speaker cables for quite some time) and could not believe how much more musical the Au24 ics were in my system.

What I thought was a touch of digital glare or hash all but vanished with the Au24s. Very low noise-floor produced a very pristine, rich, and more musical sound in comparison.

I know that many claimed the Pure Note ER ics to be better than the Nordost Valhallas, but the Au24 ics were simply in another and better league. In my system anyway.

I am using Audioquest Anaconda interconnects with a PS Audio Xtreme Statement power cord. I am very satisfied with the results but must admitt I have not done very much experimenting here.
I've tried about everything and landed on:

Audience AU-24 interconnects
Michael Wolff Carbon Source Power cord (he gives free trials).

If you don't want Audience the Poiema! (RCA only) and the Pure Note Epsilon Reference work well on the SCD-1 as well.

Good Luck!
You might want to check AC polarity on this unit before you go wild on power cords and interconnects as it is normally reverses polarity which normally screws up the stage and venue information......I've built a lot of reversed polarity cords for the SCD-1......Give this a try before you spend a lot of money on wires as very easy to measure.......
I agree with Stehno with the FR LC-1. Email me direct and I can tell you about al the cords I tried with the Sony and which ones did what. I use the AZ Sil Ref ICs inmy system, have never tried the Audience.

Happy Listening.
I'm using Audience Au24 XLR ic's and the Foundation Research LC-1 passive in-line power conditioner (I use one for each component) with my SCD-1.

The Au24 interconnects and speaker cables are in my opinion perhaps very close to the best yet at a very reasonable price.

And the Foundation Research LC-1s and LC-2s are the very best line conditioner/power cable according to Marty DeWulf of Bound for Sound. And the LCs come with their own built-in power cable and cost about as much as a good power cable.

I recommend Virtual Image power cables, the Sledgehammer and Pile Driver, and interconnects, Pile Driver 18. The V.I. interconnects replaced Straightwire Crescendo's and the Sledgehammer PC's replaced Ensemble Mega's. I the upgraded from the Sledgehammers to the Pile Drivers. You can contact Virtual Image at virtualimage@juno.com if you are interested in trying their cables. They do offer a 30 day trial policy on their standard cables. You can read more of what I have written about the Virtual Image cables by searching the discussion forums here on Audiogon, search key word(s) - " virtual image"
