I. Saw this video and realized that I may have it positioned incorrectly. Instead of having it as a last item in the chain at the player/dac, …maybe it should be at the wall into the router itself

@akg_ca I’m using it at the EERO end then Ethernet cable from iFi to streamer. In either case I struggle to hear any difference to be honest but it could be that my streamer is not as sensitive. I do easily hear differences between Ethernet cables though.

In my audio system, I found the ifi to be the most effective when installed strictly as recommended by the manufacturer.  I have three ethernet cables in my streaming only audio system.  As recommended, I have one ifi plugged directly into the ethernet wall outlet, on the ethernet cable from the wall to my audio switch.  The other two ifi are plugged directly into my audio switch, on the ethernet cables going to my streamer and music server.  Happy listening.        

So what does it "silence" exactly in the Ethernet protocol

Stop tolling and google it. And write to iFi if you need any additional details. Buy one. Try it. Take it apart and report back to us with your findings and pictures - what did you hear in your system? What’s inside this gadget? Be productive. Don’t be a douche.
