Assuming both the Airlens and CD player are outputting an i2S signal, it could be your DAC is not compatible with the specific i2S pin configurations of your sources. Unfortunately there currently is no standard for the i2S connection so some sources and DACs are not compatible via i2S. This tends to be less of an issue with bigger manufacturers like Denafrips, etc. who also sometimes include adjustable i2S settings to make their DACs compatible with more devices, but with smaller companies this can be more of an issue. In general it’s best to check with the DAC manufacturer before you buy to make sure it’s compatible with the sources you’re using will work. Hope this helps.
