HOME THEATER SPEAKERS, AVR, SUBS

Hi!
Am in the process of buying a home theater system and utterly confused. Just want to give some details before I ask you for guidance on questions that are on my mind. Would highly appreciate your feedback and apologies for the long list.
My room is 21 Ft long 15.5 feet wide and about 9 feet high. One thing good my Bed is right in the center i.e 10.5 feet from the point where the system will be placed. The rough volume is about 2,900 Cubic Feet or about 85 Cubic meters..
75% of the time I listen to music the kind which one hears in pubs and lounges where there is a lot of thump. About 20% Movies and TV and 5% old Rock like Pink Floyd etc.

The choices that I have to make where I need you advice are :
  • AV Receiver:
Maranz 6013 or an equivalent Yamaha receiver.

  • Sub woofer:
Two PB 1000 or a single PB 2000.(Ported)

Speaker sets either from SVS// Definitive// or Klipsch.
  • Speakers:

  • SVS Speakers.
SVS: Front 2 SVS Prime Bookshelf 6.5
SVS Prime -Centre
Surround 2 SVS Prime –Satellite.
Wondering whether I should go for ULTRA Book Shelf or stick with PRIME. The price difference is huge.

I just replaced a 10 year old Onkyo AVR with an Anthem AVR and I am very impressed with the results.  Anthem is known for their room correction and given some of the quirks of your room, room correction might be valuable.  I don’t know about their availability in India, but they are a Canadian company, if that helps

Appreciate the time taken as also the advice. I'm going for Def Tech as the base seems to be a little bit better. I dont know if they have a series for this range. Will find out . thank you once again for your advice. Much appreciated.

Since you say music listening is 75% of the time I can't stress enough the importance of doing diligent auditioning of the left and right speakers focusing on midrange and upper frequency realism. You may even prefer the presentation of center channel speakers. 

In my experience mixing speakers even from the same brand and series unnecessarily complicates the surround effect. When I upgraded from a dipole / center 5.1 to a matching 7.1 system the result was incredible. In the process I located the speakers as close to the same ear level elevation aid distance as possible. This effort required much less room correction which greatly aided in the surround effect and made multi channel recordings sound morelike a real concert.

Your choices of Def Tech and Klipsch seem to be easy loads for a receiver based system. Another suggestion would be Triangle from France. 

I'd choose two sealed subwoofers and locate them by using the crawl testing method. I have yet to find a room were the subs sound better in corners behind or next to the main speakers, so far. Good luck and have fun.

SVS is fine then for the sub. 
 
DefTech and Klipsch over SVS Prime.

My issue is that all these products may not be available in India.
But would start working on your suggestions.

1) Denon and Marantz are sister companies, their receivers’ performances are close enough that they can be treated as identical, main difference really is just the looks/UI. A Denon X4500 is the equivalent to the Marantz SR6013, and if you don’t need built-in phono, the X4400 is practically the same, and is just $900 (compared to $1500 for the SR6013). 
 
2) HSU and Rythmik make better subs for the money than SVS in my opinion, although SVS is still good. I would suggest a single HSU VTF-2 MK5 to start (though buying two at once has a slight discount). If you want sealed, then the Rythmik L12 (also slight discount for buying two at once). 
 
3) No need to buy matching surrounds, you won’t notice a difference, especially once you run Audyssey (the room correction that comes with Denon/Marantz, I would suggest the $20 mobile app to adjust the target curve if you wish to do so). 
 
4) I would suggest for your front speakers: the Chane A1.4/A2.4, the HTD Level Three bookshelves+center, the NHT C1+C LCR, the NHT C3+ C LCR, the Ascend Acoustics CBM-170 + CMT-340, or the HSU HB-1 MK2 + HC-1 MK2. 
 
5) I would suggest for your rear speakers: Fluance XLBP, Fluance Signature Bookshlef, or Polk OWM5.
