Hifi beginer need help with speaker and sub cables
Hi!
I am beginer in hifi world and i need some spekaer and sub cables. I have some specific requirements for it so hopefully you can help :) Also i was asking come shops or manufacturers for advice and i am getting really different recommendations for what i should select or be careful with choicing the right cables for my system. Hopefully someone here can be realistic and give me good answer or recommendation.
I have amp, speakers and 2 subs, this is the equipment i bought:

Spekers and sub will be placed againts the wall and all the speaker / sub cables will go inwall installed. Each cable have their own plastic pipe (usually used for electricitry installations).
_The max internal diameter of the plastic pipe is 13mm. So I am kinda limited with gauge or cable dimater in this case.
So the lenghs are kinda long so this also give me the limitation wirh my budged.
_I need aprox 13m of lengh for each spekaer / sub.
I am placed in Europe so i have kinda limited access to the cables i can buy here. But if you are recommendin some really good cables worth importing i would also do this but theere will be additional cost with duty/tax.
I was for example looking into following bards for spekaer cable / sub:
https://www.futureshop.co.uk/wireworld-solstice-8-speaker-cable-price-per-m
https://www.futureshop.co.uk/chord-clearwayx-speaker-cable
https://www.futureshop.co.uk/chord-odyssey-x-speaker-cable
https://www.futureshop.co.uk/EUR/audioquest-flx-slip-14-4-speaker-cable
Subs:

https://www.futureshop.co.uk/EUR/atlas-element-achromatic-1-rca-to-1-rca-subwoofer-cable
https://www.bluejeanscable.com/store/subwoofer/index.htm
https://shop.klotz-ais.com/ac110sw.html
I was adviced to look for AWF 12-14 for speakers due to lenght and diameter of the cable for installation.
For subs i did not get any specific recommendation tvh except it should be shielded properly, what ever that really means.
Anyway thank you for advice and help!
Kind regards!

I'd pick Mogami over WW any day if you can find it. It's more transparent, and has more bass. They make 4 conductor cables as well so if you don't mind splicing, you can run a pair of surrounds with a single run. Take a look at the AM Acoustics room simulator and try to keep your sub and listening location outside of the lowest room modes. Hah, shielded subs? Are you still using a CRT television? Hahahah. :)

Ignoring the issue of (i) budget limitations and (ii) unknown performance limitations and warts in your bespoke audio listening environment…,and (iii) unknown familiarity with your system’s strengths, warts, and bespoke sonic signature …. it’s impossible for a 3rd party in this forum to blindly provide you any meaningful response, I would strongly recommend that you toddle down to your dealer that actually carries your OEM gear, for personal auditions on what he recommends. |
