A high resolution (96 kHz/24 bit) stereo signal needs about 5 megabits per second of bandwidth on your Ethernet.
The now old school 100 mbit switches and cables had 20x that capacity.
The current standard of gigabit Ethernet has about 200 times more network capacity than needed for 96/24 music.
Things get wonky with WiFi, but get a modern router, 5G signal and get a channel without contention and you'll do alright.
