Help Needed - Popping sound when powering on a new setup!

OK, need some help. Pretty sure some of you are experts in this area, I certainly am not.  Just set up the WiiM Ultra to an external Benchmark DAC2 HGC and then to an IOM Ultra power amp (Hypex NCORE). The amp is powering Monitor Audio Gold GS20’s.

Now I am getting the loud pop when powering it all on. Yes, I will Google potential fixes, but I’m curious what any of you have done to solve this problem. It’s pretty loud. Right now it is happening with the streamer/DAC units connected via COAX.

Currently have multiple set up through the house and I’ve never had this issue, even with a WiiM Ultra--->Benchmark DAC setup, up until now. 🫤

Thanks in advance!

Do you power on all at once? What is your 'turn on' sequence? Start at the streamer and turn each component on with the amp being the last to come on. Reverse the process for shut down.

@gdaddy1 +1 but I would add that I would power on DAC first so that when you power up the streamer it sees it. DAC and streamer can be kept on 24/7 just turn off display on streamer if it has one.

From there power on your preamp then amp.

power off sequence - reverse order

Thanks to both of you for your input. It does turn out to have been the start up sequence. I learned that if I power up the DAC first and then power up the preamp and amp via trigger all is quiet and everything works as it should.

Thanks again for your input! Can always count on this forum for great insight and support.

@johnnotkathi   Your Benchmark DAC and your amp, both have trigger output.  Connect them with a cable (1/8" plugs) and it will provide proper delay.  Perhaps cable was included with DAC?

@kijanki Thanks!  Problem solved. I learned that if I power up the DAC first and then power up the preamp and amp via trigger all is quiet and everything works as it should!
