Has Anyone Else Listened to Carina Round?

Carina is a British artist is mostly associated with Maynard James Keenan and the band Pucifer. Pucifer is highly recommended, but Corrina has her own solo records that are very popular in Britain but almost unheard of here. She is a darker version of Kate Bush and IMHO every bit as talented. There is a Compilation disc available in the States now called Deranged to Devine. Tigermending is her most acclaimed record but difficult to find. There is a remixed version called Tigermixes. It is inferior to the original. She has a crystalline voice with an incredible range. Her songs are very original. She is highly sought after as a vocalist. She toured with Tears for Fears as a background vocalist.

Recommended albums are; The Disconnection, Tigermending, Things You Should Know and Deranged to Divine.  With Pucifer; Money Shot, Conditions of My Parole, Existential Reckoning, Live at Arcosanti, V is for Versatile

I checked her out on YouTube - very good stuff indeed... I see that most that I saw on there was like 9 to 14 years old; is she still doing anything?

@larsman

You bet. Listen to Pucifer, Live at Arcosanti. This was a concert filmed during Covid and streamed to the public. You can buy a video of the performance which is amazing to watch.

I have ordered a Pucifer CD and about to order a Carina CD - Dancing in Slow Motion. Thank you Mijostyn for the heads up!

Existential Reckoning is the studio version of Live at Arcosanti. Live at Arcosanti comes with a DVD of the performance. If you like Existential Reckoning I highly recommend Money Shot and Conditions of My Parole. Money Shot is my personal favorite. It has "The Remedy" on it, just a great tune. As for Carina's solo work, Tigermending is an insane record if you can find it. Several of its tunes are on Deranged to Divine which is easily available. But, Tigermending is easily in my top 100 records of all time. Do not get Tigermixes. IMHO it is an abomination. Some things should be left alone.

One warning about Pucifer. The first album is "V is for Vagina" The album cover is going to offend some people. Maynard can be more than black. However my second favorite Pucifer song is on it, "Momma Sed." This is also the best version of it. Pucifer is a contraction of pussy and Lucifer. Maynard has since calmed down a bit. He lives in Arizona, has a vineyard and makes wine. The last bottle I had was terrible. They say he is getting better at it. When you hear Carina's arrangements you will understand the attraction to Maynard. One more thing. Maynard's and Carina's voices were made for each other like Jerry Cantrell and Layne Staley.

I wouldn't have thought there would be vineyards in Arizona - maybe that's why it was terrible? 😁
