Gustard C16 clock

Stupid question of the day...

I have a Gustard R26 dac and a Gustard U18 ddc.  I've read comments from users that say that adding a C16 clock adds a bit of improvement.

For the life of me, I can't figure out how a C16 connects to the U18.  I know there is a cable with bnc connectors.  But, I only see outputs on the C16. Six of them. Some direct and some isolated.

Is the single cable bi-directional? I'm used to sound going in on one cable and out another.

Anyone using a similar setup that has insights on what I might expect for improvement (if any)?

The U18 has an input and output, but I only see outputs on the C16 unless I'm missing something.

Oh sorry misunderstood your dilemma. Clock only has a single cable connection

Maybe I'm missing something here -- your streamer/renderer connects to the DDC via USB, the clock output connects to the BNC input of the DDC.  Then the DDC connects to the DAC via an HDMI cable.  Then your DAC outputs to your preamp via RCA or balanced connection.

Please try it (returns are SO easy on Amazon) and let us know how it sounds.

Thank you for the reply.  I think you have the connections spelled out correctly.  I guess I don't really understand how the clock works.  It sends a signal to the ddc, but no signal goes into the clock.

Supposedly, Gustard is coming out with an R30 dac that will be an upgrade to the R26.  Maybe I should upgrade to that rather than adding a $650 clock.

Pretty sure your connection is R26 (set ext clock) bnc to clock and U18 bnc to clock then to Dac.
