Giant ads on threads

Anyone else getting giant blue Prime ads that cover half the page on your phone? Very annoying and unnecessary..

Audiogon's insistence on home-brewing its own forum software is admirable.

I mean, they could use working, proven, reliable software like every other audio forum does, thereby offering users a delightful, seamless experience and the ability to, oh, drag-and-drop pictures that are not grotesquely deformed in the rare instances when they do actually post, but where would be the charm in that?

@devinplombier, Audiogon gives you a free forum to use weather you buy and sell here or not. If you do not like their software, there are many other audio forums that may be more to your liking.  Let us know how it goes.

One of my two anti-virus/anti-malware programs is the paid version of Malwarebytes (it saved my bacon many times). MWB has a superb ad-blocker which I use on Firefox, my primary browser. As a result, I haven't been served ads there in years. There's just one problem with this rosy picture: a number of websites are refusing to serve content unless I disable the blocker. This tactic is getting more robust and obstructive--they really mean business. I find in general that trying to set a permssion for certain websites to stream ads vs others just doesn't work. MWB has the functionality, but the website continue popping up the "Disable your ad-blocker" panels.

Not sure how to proceed, though in general I just avoid those websites on the believe that if they are that intrusive and pushy, I don't need whatever they have to gbegin with.

I sent the email in quotes below to Audiogon customer support:

”There are far too many advertisements appearing on the Audiogon forums, and they have become overwhelming to the point of being disruptive. The sheer volume and placement of these ads make it difficult to focus on the actual forum discussions and meaningfully engage with the community. Instead of providing a smooth and enjoyable reading experience, these ads are disrupting my enjoyment.

I assume Audiogon is getting paid for these ads and may rely on the revenue. That said, I’m finding the ads increasingly frustrating and, as a result, I’m not reading the forums as often as I used to.   Thanks.

I sometimes mark the ads as “not interested,” but new ones continue to appear. Unfortunately, this makes reading the Audiogon forums a frustrating experience. I believe something should be done to improve this.  Thank you”.

And, in addition, when I posted this, I received ANOTHER Amazon prime popup ad (using my iPhone and Safari).
