Dickey seems to be doing better although he has a ways to go. Hang in there brother, there are more strings to bend!

He's had surgery to relieve the intra-cranial swelling and is reported to be doing better. Let's hope recovery continues on course. 

Stood on the side of the stage in 1972 in Bristol VA/TENN and watched Duane and Dickey trade solos during a show we opened for them at some college there.  Both our bands were staying at the local Holiday Inn, which, I am sure back then, thought all these long-haired hippies were going to cause trouble!  He is a musical genius based on what I saw myself, so GET WELL SOON, Mr. Betts!

Very sorry to hear this about Dickey, author of my favorite rock instrumental, "In memory of Elizabeth Reed."  Get well soon!
