Fed Ex makes good

Just a quick shout out to Fed Ex. I recently sold an amp and shipped it out of state. I used Fed Ex and purchased additional insurance, just in case. Well, as bad luck will have it, one of the type 45 tubes broke in transit. My buyer sent me a single picture of the broken tube still sitting in the bubble wrap. I mentioned that I would replace his tubes and asked for some additional pictures that the Fed Ex claims page said would be useful.

Well, even though I never received any additional pictures, and an opinion that he doubted that Fed Ex would make it right, they did! I sent my request with the one picture and got a reply 2 days later saying my claim had been approved. 3 days after that, I received a check in the mail.

Way to go Fed Ex!!

Is FedEx falling apart? They seem to take longer than other carriers to transport stuff. I just ordered a lot of stuff from digikey and my package has apparently been sitting in Maple Grove, MN for a whole day and a half. Day and a half? Don’t they have, like, automated conveyor belts that move stuff around 24/7? Does FedEx work weekends? Maybe they don’t.

I actually get stuff from Shenzhen and Tokyo faster than from the Midwest. I mean, really.

And our local FedEx van has had a busted muffler for months, in contrast to Prime's all-electric fleet. Time to short FedEx stock?

Glad they did the right thing by OP though, and sorry for being ever so slightly off-topic.

Most of, if not all FedEx Ground routes, and FedEx Express routes in rural areas are Contractors. That would explain the condition of the trucks in your area.

You are extremely lucky. My son had some KT88s damaged when shipping his amp back from VTL. FedEx would not honor that claim.

I’ve always had good luck with FedEx.  UPS is another story. Let’s just say I’ll not be using Brown again.  They are neck and neck with the USPS.

here is my fix w/ shipping UPS USPS etc ( does not work w/ fed ex but maybe it could ?  ) i use pirate ship have an account there . I have a e bay or other seller do the sale do it as  a local pick up i email them free ( to them ) pre-paid shipping label . i buy the shipping label pay for it myself ! it is cheaper and i add insurance to actual cost -you can only insure pirate ship to what you paid for it . not "value " anyway if it is lost or damaged I get the $ NOT the shipper ! otherwise YOU don't get $ unless they give it to you ! i have done same thing w/ royal mail YOU buy label YOU are owner ! otherwise shipper gets the $ fr a shipping claim!
