Not sure if this is true, but if Apple is about to jump into the world of high res downloads, it'll doubtless be interesting.

Don't forget that Sony will be a big player in this game also. I believe that the scramble for market share by all of these providers will be a big win for the music buying public. I hope someone is keeping a watchful eye to make sure there are no back-room meetings amongst the providers to keep pricing artificially high.... collusion.

It's probably to combat the threat of PONO high-res players
- if they don't do something they might just lose it all.

Will Apple's current players handle high-res files?

If not, then there should be a new player in the works also.
