Entertainer Stereo Amp?

I have a friend who's trying to sell me a amp that's branded as "Entertainer" model NA-2000. He wants a good amount of money for it but I have not been able to find even the smallest amount of information on the company or the model. It doesn't look like Audiogon even has any info on it. Anyone ever heard of this company? Is it any good?

The OP never said how much his friend is asking for the amp. He only states "He wants a good amount of money for it". However, we do not know what a good amount of money is to this individual. For some people $100 is a good amount of money.
As Donjr indicated, Nikko made a model NA-2000 integrated amplifier (around 1984). Google "Nikko NA-2000" and you'll find some photos of it. If it looks the same it is probably a badge-engineered version of the same thing (i.e., the same thing under a different name).

According to an older bluebook I have, the Nikko NA-2000 sold for $330 in 1984. One recently sold on eBay for $70. Another one that had various problems did not sell at $10.

There are so many amplifier options available to you I would advise against purchasing an unknown. Purchase an amplifier that has resale value and can be repaired if needed.

Let your friend sell the amp on Audiogon. If he is a true friend he will understand.
"it's likely not a good deal if it is over 5-7 years old, has a captured power cord or spring clip speaker wire connectors, uses a fan for cooling, or has a flimsy chassis and very lightweight."

Please explain why the things you mentioned are considered undesirable for amplifiers.
Regardless of your friend's intent it's likely not a good deal if it is over 5-7 years old, has a captured power cord or spring clip speaker wire connectors, uses a fan for cooling, or has a flimsy chassis and very lightweight.

Nikko made a na 2000. If that's what it is its worth about $25. I would pass on your friends amp regardless. When there's no information at all online for that unit, it's not worth pursuing.
