Electronic Bass Trap Experience

Does anyone have any positive experience with the PSI AVAA C20 Absorber? Probably would need at least two. I prefer not to stuff more boxes and tubes into the room. I have all 4 corners of a symmetrical room (425 s.f., vaulted A frame 7-13ft) treated with 16” square rectangular tower traps but need a bit more management for the 40-80Hz octave. Thank you, Dave H

If you are running GIK soffit traps, you really can't do better than that for the corners. Spread the love around with mondo traps in between though!

Also consider EQ as a better option if your problem is more broad band and not really a room mode.

Should also point out that not all room modes are vertical and in the corners. The corner traps like the GIK soffit traps are incredibly effective in the lowest 2 octaves, but above that room modes are often concentrated elsewhere, so having wall and ceiling mounted traps can really be effective

I'm also interested in this tech as I'm running out of wall space and still have a couple deep modes to address.

OP and @achipo

There’s a really excellent room mode simulator online here:

You can hover over each room mode and it will show you where your room modes are at. Corner traps (passive or active) work best on modes which have significant parts in the corners.

Also, consider EQ to remove big bass bumps. They are very effective, but of course, better in combination with bass traps, and may leave you with too little bass in other locations.

In the example I sent you for instance, the 62 Hz mode which is floor to ceiling, is not going to be well managed by floor to ceiling traps. One reason I have mondo traps on the floor between the soffit traps. 😁

BTW, Unfortunately  Bag End ELF has no product as updates to their current version have been delayed since the pandemic.
