I've used Soundsmith, VAS and Joseph Long in the past. Long did the retip on my Dynavector XV-1s last May and I am very satisfied with the result. Dynvector does not retip but will rebuild which involves going through their US distributor and back to Jp. About 1/2 the price of buying new for the rebuild. I'm in the NE of the US so VAS or Long would be my choices for a retip. Their customer interaction in my experience is better than Soundsmith and I've made the trip in person to Soundsmith.

Vincent, The most reliable thing to do is call or email Toffco, the US importer info@dynavector-usa.com and find out what Dynavectors stylus replacement program is. Many manufacturers just give you a new replacement cartridge for a fraction of the retail price. There are cheaper option but I personally would rather have a factory fresh, guaranteed performance cartridge then g-d knows what. |
