It's way too expensive 😮
DS Audio Ionizer - Any Experience?
Interested in getting any feedback on the effectiveness of the DS Audio ION-001 .
I like the theory of static reduction, but not sure how to effectively measure the actual performance ?? Certainly not inexpensive, but if it works . . . . . . . ?!
I have seen the earlier discussions from a couple years ago, but hoping for any updated experience.
We sell a lot of the DS ion-001's and have to say it's the only anti-static device that works 100%. A somewhat interesting way I have come up with to demo the effectiveness of the static reduction is to use the static filled record sleeve. I am sure anyone who's played a record has pulled their new record out of a sleeve that sucks together and is clearly full of static. I simply drop the sleeve over the DS and spin it in a circle a couple times. When I lift it off the DS it waves in the air, static free. I have had many customers claim they don't have a static issue, try out the DS and realize it lowers the noise floor on their records. While it's expensive for an anti-static device it's also the only one I have found that works as effectively as it does. |
Thank you all for the responses - SLAW, my light-hearted response to your “Too Expensive” seems odd to a group of us who will drop $500 on a 2ft power cord 😜 The other responses prompted me to hunt down a Static Electricity meter - What’s another $350 to be able to confirm the Ion generator is actually doing something… We are a demented group! But I love it ! |
I've seen and heard the CS Port IME1 in action and it works as advertised. https://www.stereotimes.com/post/cs-port-static-demagnatizer/ |
