Do you find that different cable manufacturers do certain types of cables better?

I'm not sure I would say better, certainly different. We have a wide selection of products available so it's up to the buyer. I for one like AudioQuest speaker cables but not their interconnects but I'm sure they are fine if you find them suitable. More personal choice than one company being better at just one type of cable. 

I don't know if they specialize in different types, but I agree with you.

For the topic at hand, yes, I agree with the OP, and I have experienced the same over the years, some manufacturers do certain cable types better than other types, to my ears that is. 

Some examples: Cardas does a great job with interconnects and speaker cables, not so much with the power cords. Shunyata is excellent with power cords on the other hand. Hopefully I am not pissing someone off. 

I have to agree that the among the very best in transparent interconnects and speaker cable… if you want neutral, is Transparent. But, you have to want neutral. The only power cord that was not as good on my equipment was the amp… and to be honest… I was not testing their power cord made for amps. So I have a Cardas on my amp.

Cardas seems to be similar across the spectrum (interconnects and power cords), only shy on details with the tonal balance towards warm side… bass heavy.

DH Labs… power cords not quit as good as their excellent (for the money) interconnects.

one thing that has always puzzled me is why interconnects, cables, and power cords of the same brand and level tend to have the same effect. Ok, cables and interconnects I understand… but to me power cords impart a similar change on a system.

A great company ie Purist or TARA LABS do everything great.

Thanks for the great responses - nice to know I'm not alone here😃! Weird though huh? Maybe certain companies put their better techs in the Speaker/IC manufacturing cell vs the power cable cell and then some vice versa?
