If there is nothing wrong with the Krell amp or the sound from it with those speakers, I wouldn't even think about replacing it.
I know there was a time when Krell products seemed very bright to my ears, but I don't think this amp fell within that group.
If you are anywhere close to an authorized or (qualified) Krell service center, I would get a friend and take it to that place to have it checked.
I personally wouldn't do any work on it unless it was necessary. But, it can't hurt to have the amp, capacitors, etc. checked to make sure they are okay.
