Cumulative Effect of cables question

Well, power cords and interconnects tend not to add something that is not there before… unless they are really cheap and allow RFI or other noise in. In general, the better they are, the better they get out of the way. 
 

in general, you want completely compatible, great sounding components, then search for wires that get out of the way of their performance. 
 

If they sound too warm Maybe it is the function of your components. 
 

What are your components and venue. It would be really helpful to see your system. There is a place under your user ID to create your virtual system. This would be really helpful to allow us to help. Without knowing your system and venue… it is like shooting in the dark.

- IME, a pc will present a different sonic signature depending on the component.

- If two components offer a similar presentation with the exact same pc, then yes, the effects will be cumulative - especially if the components are in adjacent series.

- Another question would be, did the new pc add the bloom or did it reveal bloom that was mitigated by the previous pc? If so, what might be causing the bloom. Other cabling? Silver vs copper? A suspended floor? Tubes? Room acoustics?

- If you can return the cable after a trial period, that would be the best case scenario.

@steakster  great point. With the AE power cable the sound thinner a little but was more open. With the Isoclean it’s blooming. Odyssey amps are on the warm side. I have to admit I’m seduced by the channel separation. 

Sounds like the Isocleans are just not a good fit for your tastes/system, so take that as a huge clue.  Please fill in the rest of your components and cables and what improvements you’re looking for.  There are plenty of cables that can improve imaging/3D soudstage without added bloom.  The more info you give here, the better recommendations you’ll get.  Adding another Isoclean seems like a recipe for disaster as cables from the same manufacturer tend to be additive to what you already heard. 

      I've found Kimber and Synergistic's products to allow increasing ambient info through, while decreasing in their editorializing of tonality/timber/etc, as I moved up their product line.

      Both manufacturers' lower priced products are VERY good, as regards transparency, but: everything gets better, moving up the price scale.

      Of course: that's in my room, with my system and there are a multitude of variables.

anyway I took a chance on the Isoclean used. I’ll look into all suggestions. The bummer is I can get another Isoclean but seems like that going to be a bad move. I’m definitely not unhappy with my AE cords but the ISO is in a whole different league.

Sometimes you can buy used and previous owner didnt run in sufficiently.Seems that better cables take lots of time to settle and work out anamolies/flip flopping of treb/bass.My furutech cables seem like there coming into there own after 400-500 plus hours.Just a thought.It sitting on top of the amp? is ?

That’s the Isoclean cord. It weighs like 8lbs and since I have to crawl back there it’s all a mess right now.

There is nothing in your system that seems like your mid bass or lower mids should be bloated at all.  I’d say these PCs just aren’t a good fit for your system and adding another will only make it worse.  Try these.  Several members here, including me, have tried LavriCables and everyone has been thrilled.  5N silver at an extremely attractive price, and no bass or mid bloat but still very tonally rich and detailed treble with no etch or glare.  May be a perfect solution and great value.
