Cronos Magnum II

New to the group, amazing amount of information.  My Rogue Audio Cronos Magnum II is about a year old and it blew a K120 tube about a month or so ago.  No big deal, I ordered some back-ups but today one of them blew again and this time with a certain amount of fury.  The port looks like it was on fire, the tube glow was intense then soft, then intense etc.  Pretty significant pop in the speakers also when I turn it on, even before it warms up.  Anyone ever experience this?

Thanks.

Thanks.  We just moved and I did not bias the tubes upon set-up so that’s likely the issue.  Also blew a small 1/4 amp  glass fuse so need to source that also.  Looks like an amazon deal since that size is near impossible to locate.  Thanks again.

If you have TWO tubes go like that in a row : best to send back to Rogue or a qualifed hifi repair guy.  Don't keep popping tubes in it - at some point you'll possibly start blowing resistors etc and things will start to get more fatal and pricey.
I've had my Cronus Magnum for about 7 years and have had no problems. Very unusual to hear something like this as they are built like tanks imo.

They stand behind their products. Give them a call.
No I have not any problem with Cronus Magnum II KT120 for 5 years.

I guess that you had not adjusted bias correctly.

Too high bias can cause the problem.

Please contact Rogue Support to learn how to do it.
