Could someone with a Garrard 401 Measure for me...

1 and 1/8" on mine with original platter and bearing.

Did you not take a moment to think that maybe the plinth is being built and I don't actually the 401 with me?

@dhcod that is without a mat. Add another 1/8" to 1/4" for the rubber.

I have fitted multiple arms - Helius, Moerch, Kuzma, SME on a 401 with the arm mounted directly on the plinth onto which the 401 is bolted - no problems.

In other words the arm is mounted at the same level as the bottom of the 401 chassis.

Thanks @dover. The arm I have is a Schroder and he recommends a specific distance range as being ideal so now I've ordered an extra piece with my plinth to raise the armboard a bit!
