Bowers and Wilkins CM1

Hi guys,

someone is offering me B&W CM1s, with stands for $350. Is this such a great deal that I shouldn't pass it up?

Don’t need a set of speakers right now but will for new room in the next couples months. I won't have much more budget than this for the speakers then either.

Can’t find much on these online...

Thanks!

Buying a set of speakers before you have a listening room ready is like putting a cart before the horse.

If price is the driving force then by all means, I would say $350 is quite a bargain for CM1's given its manufacturer pedigree.

Pardon me for being blunt, I believe you are being 'Seduced' by apparant excitement of owning a piece of gear.

Patience is the name of the game if you want to do things the right way in this crazy hobby!

Regarding the price, I believe it to be a good deal considering they come with stands. The CM1s are a small speaker with limited bass extension. A good candidate for a subwoofer.

Do you know the room where this system is going to be placed? The issue is wether these speakers are the right choice for the room.
Thanks guys,

2 potential room:

1) 15’x13’ living room with couch and carpet

2) 15’x10’ sunroom with tile floor and floor to ceiling windows.

Also, I have KEF Q compacts in room 1, but could move them to (2) if the B&Ws make sense in (1).
I would think the CM1s would play well into rooms of that size. Probably work better in room 1. Room 2 will prove to be a very bright sounding room. The KEF Qs may work better there, as I believe they have a more laid back signature.
