Best way to spend my money

A digital guy asking the analog group basically so bare with me please...right now i have a VPI scout 2 with a high output Benz mc cartridge....going into a Gold note ph10...a 15 foot run of rca cable into a Pass labs int60...my table is set along a sidewall be cause of no room for the table around the rack.....So my questions is this...I have a grand to spend..should I buy a power supply for my phono amp...should I get a better  low output mc cartridge.. or should I buy xlr cables to run from phono to the integrated...I hear a promise of better things to come and I have no expectations to better my digital setup...thanks

Some turntables are very sensitive to the platform they sit on. I would experiment with that before doing anything else. You probably have some different footers sitting around. Try them and see if the sound is more to your liking. When I had my Linn, the sound was very tunable, depending on the platform. Certainly worth a try. While I don’t agree with the above assessment of how much you need to spend,  I don’t see $1000 going that far, considering you are starting with reasonably high quality analog gear.

@missioncoonery stated " my table is set along a sidewall because of no room for the table around the rack "

What does this statement reveal, A 18Kg Mechanical Tool has a placement selected for it in a Room, selected because the Audio Equipment Rack positioning or available Space on the Rack is not seen as best suited for the TT Setting Up.

My experiences has led me to the place not man off the shelf equipment rack shelves will be useful if solely used to support 18Kg, an 18Kg TT is another thing all together.

This TT needs a fair bit off thought put into the Structure that supports it and not only for the quality of fastenings if a Wall Shelf is to be selected.

Making more known about how the TT is being supported will help with making suggestion for mounting the TT, that can return substantial benefits.

Of the HO Benz is not overly used and is believed to be able to offer quite a few extra hours of usage, the Benz might just show another side of itself when the Styli requirements, when in contact with the Groove Wall are being given a improved environment to function in.

Would a CD Player be advised to be mounted on a Washing Machine, especially one being used as a Spin Dry.

A Wild Suggestion is, a TT would not be advised to be mounted on a Washing Machine that is never Powered On and seated on Anti Vibration Footers, the washing machine in this state has the potential to effect a TT's produced signal, more than a Power On Washing Machine will effect a CDP's produced signal.

The basic goal, being to send a signal that is as unadulterated as possible to achieve, to undergo various stages of Amplification and then be transferred to becoming the End Sound.

The End Sound for the Typical Audio Equipment user, is all that is available to assess how the Signal is being Produced, Sent, Amplified and Divided at the XOver to become the Sound the Speaker is capable of achieving.

Shame the reply is dismissive, the Digital Guy maybe has quite strong ideas for analogue and is quite sure of where they expect better things to come from.

The only request for info in the Post was the following,

"  Making more known about how the TT is being supported will help with making suggestion for mounting the TT, that can return substantial benefits. "

Is not 'can return substantial benefits' very similar to "expect better things to come".

I'm not sure where benefits or better is on the table without considering the best possible mounting for the TT.

Good Luck from here on, it will be very very easy getting what other suggestions to be offered are talking about. Take the usual advice to be put out there and see how a Bank Account will be encouraged to drain very very fast. Usually where required funding is ascending fast to 10 x $1K, this is not unusual on the Gon. Some members won't even try and help with only $1K to consider, that is how much the connectors on their to be suggested Cable are intended to cost.

You have a pretty good set up already.  For my money I’d invest in a decent set of balanced cables.  That long of a run in RCA cables is asking for trouble with noise. Especially coming out of a phono preamp.  All my source equipment is 20 feet away from my tube power amps.  I use XLR for the long run from my preamp.  I have zero noise using those cables.
