AR Turntable Website going online today

Hi all,
I have accomplished my summer goal, which was to create a website for AR (Acoustic Research) Turntables. With the help of many folks here for info, and with the technical help of a long-time friend, it is officially unveiled TODAY!!

www.vinylnirvana.com

As indicated on the opening page, this will be a website that will continue to grow. Please give me feedback as to what you like, and what you want to see more of. Please be kind, this is the first website for either of us.

For those of you who have/manage other websites, if appropriate, I would appreciate a link. Of course I will reciprocate.

I have an original ETL-1 in Cherry wood. It is in brand new condition. I purchased it from Hi-Fi-Haven in New Brunswick NJ. In about 1984. It still sounds great and has it's original belt.

Site updated with info clarifying the mid-eighties AR turntable models.

Thanks to Kurt Wolf for the info.

I bought my AR from the great "Elliot" of 'Esoteric Audio' when his flag flew from Brooklyn in 1982 under a small business loan. He put a Linn Basik arm on it and it is going strong with a new Ring Mat. I will check out the site.

Sometimes I can't believe that I still have a AR XB from 1976 that my wife uses in her darkroom. 28 years old, never had a problem, still has original belt and still looks like new. You have to love that.
Hi Sean,

Yes I did get that stuff. At that point, we were in a technical crunch. It wil get added in the next round of content...in a couple of weeks.

Thanks again, truly appreciated.

Dave, did you get the manual, factory press release info and warranty registration card that i sent you? Sean

Some folks may have problems accessing the site until their provider recognizes my server website name. Could take 24-48 hours. Funny how some go right away, and others take their time. Technology....

I'm a fan of these 'tables, good work! Tip: I'm a fan of these 'tables not only because they get the music right (stunning PRaT), but because they maximize the potential of ornery Decca cartridges! Via various discussions I devised the following theory, which may be wrong: the very compliant suspension of the AR 'tables make up for the total lack of suspension of Decca cartridges, with the result that these incredible (and incredibly difficult) cartridges are suddenly able to truly show their mettle, taking AR 'tables into the High End with it. I see your own AR has a Mayware: AR + Mayware + Decca = DYNAMITE. But it's not only the Decca dynamics and slam which are legendary, but when mated to a sympathetic set-up, the detail and imaging! That said, Deccas are never easy, so enter at your own risk.

Neat site. I've got the "AR Turntable" and look forward to the continued growth of vinylnirvana.
