Apple Music hi Rez sound quality? My take.

I have been using Qobuz as my primary streaming source now for several years and have compared it to Tidal and most recently Apple Music, since they have given me a free 90 day subscription. I can easily hear the difference between Qobuz and Apple Music streams. Apple Music seems to have decent detail but the sound is very warm and thick, to my ears, in my system. I wish I could describe it a little better.
Qobuz seems to have a much cleaner, detailed sound with better imaging and staging. If Apple Music was all that was available, I could live with it but I will not end up becoming a paid subscriber. I do not like the way Apple Music does not allow you to know what bit rate is being presented. I also tried the Dolby Atmos that Apple offers and it sounds somewhat artificial to me.
And I do have my volume set to max on the LUMIN T2, since Apple says that is the way you get the highest resolution lossless stream.

I am wondering if I am missing something here with Apple or most likely I just don’t care for the sonic differences I am hearing.

My family dragged me into Apple Music and I'm trying it now. I stopped Amazon HD so I could eliminate just one subscription of the way-too-many we have but barely use. (Anyone else feel that pain?)
Tvad, Thanks for responding. I use the Apple Music app on my iPad to connect to the LUMIN. Qobuz sent to the LUMIN through the Roon app that resides on the iPad from the Roon software in the small green computer server

I do wish the Lumin app would accommodate more than just Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify, and TuneIn internet radio.  I use Qobuz and am very happy with it but some other options would be nice.  Anyone know if those are planned by Lumin?
Tvad, the Lumin only connects to Apple Music through airplay since Roon does not offer Apple Music. I have compared the LUMIN app sound to Roon sound and they are indistinguishable to me. As you know,The Roon interface offers so much more than just the LUMIN app which is decent for what it is

It's true that Apple Music subscriptions are a bit expensive. Therefore, I found a useful tool, AudFree Apple Music Converter, to download Apple Music songs to a normal format. This way, I can keep my Apple Music downloads forever without having to pay for them.
