No - but I used to use 25 ft audio system XLR cable as mic cables (Audio Magic Presto II), on expensive mics, for exactly the reasons you stated.
Anyone tried pro-audio XLR mike cable in system ?
I was wondering if anyone had experience using pro-audio XLR cable. You know, the ugly ones with the black rubber skin.
I think that expensive microphones (think large sensitive diaphrams) need revealing cables to carry the nuances and detail....especially for recording.
The connectors are obviously rugged...how about the cable's ability to pass on a signal in an audiophile system?
I tried an ''el cheapo'' one the other day, and frankly, it was above my expectations.
