Anti Cables Speaker Wire

I just bought a set of Anti Cables speaker wire for my system (bananas on both ends):
1. Cary SLP-94
2. BAT VK 200
3. Rega P3-24 with Mitchell Counterweight, aftermarket aluminum subplatter, TTPSU, Clearaudio Virtuoso
4. Cambridge Audio 650 CD player
5. Acoustic Zen Adagio speakers
I have been running big old Monster Cable wires that I have had for over a decade. When I hooked up the Anti Cables I lost low end punch and dynamics. What used to give me goosebumps now just sounds lean. Any advice? Thanks.

Hiendmuse:

How long many hours did you have on the Anti's? Mine did not start to sound good till over 200hrs on them. There was a big difference with mine between new and 300+hrs.
I had the anti-cables speaker wires and interconnects with Eichmann copper RCA's for a few months, and didn't like what they did to my system. They removed tonality and emotional expressionism and draw, and I didn't enjoy the sound. I went with Morrow speaker and interconnects with Eichmann silver RCA's, which was a night and day improvement over the anti-cables. They have transformed the sound into a beautiful musical experience of wonderful tonality and emotional draw.
I just switched to anti cables in an all tubed system. I was using Linn K400 cables before and I really thought the linns were great..until I tried anti cables. The transparency went through the roof and the bass extension increased. For the money I dont know if they can be beat.
Anti-cables did not work well in my system - less bass, grittier sound than Audience or Cardas. But other people love them, so I assume that they are unusally system-dependent or taste-dependent.

I also found that when I had an amp with an RFI problem, the anti-Cables made the problem worse. I think that solid core cables generally have this characteristic.
I have the Anti-cables and they made a big difference in my rig in a positive way but I did loose some benefits compared to my XLO cable but the anti's are better & more musical. The bass in my rig improved, it's tight and well defined and definitely present.

I have read that the anti's can have different characteristics in different rigs so you maybe right about what your hearing but you do need to break them in (200hrs & hard to get that much break time in less than 30 days in case for refund) to get them to sing, only then can you really compare.

There's also Morrow & Bogdan cables but these are more expensive.

Good luck
I read the endless testimonials on Anticable's website. Is this for real? Will a set of Anticable interconnects and speaker cables outclass, say, MIT Magnum MA or Taralab Gold? If they do, I'm gonna buy them.
Maybe the speaker cables don't like the amp's power cord and/or interconnects

well I can only say is to take all three out for dinner and introduce them to each other.
Thanks guys. I checked the wiring and it is correct. Cyclonicman, I'm with you on the break in. Will stay with them for a while to see if the sound opens up. I've heard so much about the anti cables that I want to given them an honest shot.
Check to make sure your wiring didn't reverse phase on one of your speakers.
I went (starting in more recent history) from Kimber 8TC to Ananlysis Plus Oval 9s to Cardas Cross and then to Anti cables. I was more than pleased as the Anti Cables just sounded better in my system and the bass was lower and tighter. Who'd a thunk it?
Thanks guys: Jeez, it never ends. I'm going to keep alternating the Monsters and Anti Cables for a while to see if they break in and start to sound better. Also, want to see if some source material sounds better with tne Anti's. I've got Morrow's from amp and CD player to preamp and those have worked well. Thanks for the responses; seems like we are all chasing the same thing.
The cables in a system have to all work together in synergy if maximum performance is the goal. Maybe the speaker cables don't like the amp's power cord and/or interconnects. If you have alternate power cords or interconnects to try, now would be your perfect opportunity to see which combination sounds best...
Advice, go back to the monster.

No issues with bass when I switched to anti's. I thought nothing was going to top the Goerz MI2 but the anti's did it for me. I went from Monster (very old battery cable size) to Audioquest to Zu to Goertz and now anti's.

We have similar taste and budget in that I use tube pre and amps and primarily spin vinyl and have a good cd (777) player.

Got to keep trying those speaker cable experiments. Maybe try the morrow (money back if it does not float your boat).

Have Fun!
