One of the all-time greats of studio recording engineering, 20-time Grammy Award winner Al Schmitt has passed away at the age of 91. Check your record collection for his name. Sinatra, Streisand, Dylan, Mancini ("Moon River"), Steely Dan (their Aja album), Brian Wilson, Neil Young, McCartney, Sam Cooke, Madonna, thousands of others. Irreplaceable.
