Analog "Guru" Wally Malewicz passed away

Analog expert and my dear friend Wally Malewicz, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, June 6th after suffering a heart attack.

Michael Fremer said that most of what he knew about TT was as a result of what Wally taught him.

He have just posted a few words on Wally, which are worth reading: https://www.analogplanet.com/content/analog-guru-wally-malewicz-rip

Good bye my dear friend. Rest in Peace.

Sad News about Wally passing way.
He was the best when it came to setting up turntables.
He also made high end speakers that used Skaaning drivers and a ribbon tweeter.
Here's pics of the speakers he made.

This is very sad news. Wally was one of the first to recognize the real challenges of phono cartridge alignment and actually do something about it. His "Wallytractor" mirrored gauges allowed a new standard of accuracy for phono setup. He was a true innovator.
Wally helped me greatly with a turntable cartridge many years ago and I found him to be very knowledgable, gracious and available. He inspected it gave advice on set up and further help with TT. All without asking and then turning down any compensation. He just wanted to help me out. I am happy to have known him.
Very sorry to hear the news.  Wally helped me out a few times over the years with setup problems. Still use the WallyScale I bought from him many years ago. And he made a couple of excellent vodka recommendations:  Luksusowa and Zubrowka. He will be missed by many.
