Allan Taylor

I have owned Allan Taylor’s CD “Looking for You” for quite a few years and it’s a favorite. I’m wanting to order one or two more of his CD and am interested in any recommendations.  Any favorites?

I have these Allan Taylor albums in my library:

- Colour to the Moon

- Hotels & Dreamers

- All Is One

- Old Friends - New Roads

Definitely these two:

Hotels & Dreamers

All is One

The latter being my favorite. And a showcase of recordings quality. You can never go wrong with Stockfisch Records out of Germany.

Thanks.  I have ordered All is One and Colour to the Moon.  Both are Stockfish as is Looking for You that I'd recommend to both of you.

Sometimes (1971) is magic but in a sparse and gentle way. All Is One is excellent.

Got up this morning.  Made coffee. Grabbed breakfast.  Sat down.  Put on the Beat Hotel, and saw your thread.  Hotels and Dreamers is my vote.

Color to the Moon arrived yesterday and I managed to listen to it once with a subdued volume. It was enjoyable, but has benefited from having the volume turned up today. I don’t have time to listen to all of it unfortunately.

I think I prefer to fuller and deeper bass presence on the album Looking for You, but it’s a very similar sound. I love that he uses a variety of unique instruments to add to the variety as the lyrics and general cadence is fairly similar across a lot of his songs.
