I can help out. As a start, Brands That Erik Doesn’t Like:

- Anything John Atkinson Likes.

I seriously don’t pay enough attention to JA to know if this is true or not. I just don’t think anyone should take him at face value when it comes to speakers, either in listening or technical critique.

oh, and Yamaha. I'm talking before the days of the M80 there.

Sigh, those were great days for modern visual design. Onkyo, Hitachi, Technics, Kyocera, in Asia,Tandberg and Revox from Europe, Carver from the US.

All of them had amazing looking products.
