Yep that seems to be the weak point on CD players. Had a nice Rotel years ago that refused to give me back the CD. I think top loading players might be more reliable with fewer moving parts.

As an owner of an Accuphase amplifier I found this video fascinating as it clearly defines the Accuphase design and production philosophy which I believe is unique in the audio industry. Strange comment. Their build quality and reliability is legendary. There are still original integrated amps from the 70s and 80s still operating. Accuphase considers the reliability a failure if they have even one. One of the highest reliability benchmarks in the industry. Just in case they also maintain parts inventory for years on their models since they remain in operation for decades. |
