A little DAC help

I am starting my hunt for a new/used dac. The Atoll DAC300 and the Spec RMP-Dac1EX listed on Agon now have me intrigued. They are both under my 5 grand budget. My system consists of a Coda 5 amp with a Lamm SE pre and Legacy Signature SE speakers. My current dac is a luxman da06. Some I've owned include Antelope Zodiac, AMR 777. One of my favorite music genres is female jazz singers. Yes, I read reviews but tend get turned off by their bias. From your experience do you have any suggestions?

My system has changed since I listed it. It is due for an update no doubt. I have a baetis streamer. And the Luxman dac. I use Tidal and Jriver. Send using USB connection. Yes, I'd agree it sounds pretty darn good but sometimes I wonder if it is not a little up front sounding.  I do not have another amp for trial.

The Legacy Signature speakers really respond well to biamping. If there is an extra amp at your disposal, it may be worth a listen before shelling mega bucks for another component.

I just checked your system and it says you have a BAT amp and Mcintosh pre wink

New or used. Either. I am however under the assumption that I will get better for less used. I appreciate a nice neutral soft presentation. Capable of a large soundstage.

Is this you as well? or is it someone else who is confused?

OP: How are you sending files/streaming to your DAC now?

I looked up that Luxman and it looks pretty good- echoing soix’s post above, what is it regarding the sound are you are looking to upgrade?

What improvements are you looking for over the Luxman, what sound characteristics are most important to you, and are you looking for new or used?
