Update! I was just about to take the can to a shipping store and I decided to hook up the can one last time. Believe it or not it worked !! I put it back together and sounds great!

The protection circuit did not reset, I'm pretty sure it's not the driver itself. I will bet Ohm can sell you a new protection device and you can install it yourself. Ask Ohm for help in replacing, they should be willing.

Switched top cans between working and non working and definitely in can (top of speaker)??

Crustycoot, Yes it has a protection circuit and Ohm told me to let it rest for 24/hrs but that did not resolve the problem.

 

Does this speaker have a protection circuit of some kind that may just need a reset?  Ohm can answer that one.

Blown components from excess current are usually easy to spot visually—they appear burnt or the case swollen.

If only one driver is down, you may be lucky and have just blown a component on the crossover.  If you can DIY you could switch the crossover from the good speaker to test or just wire it to the down speaker with long wires to save removing it.

Do all of the drivers in that speaker work?  Is what you hear distorted or is it just softer?  If it is just softer, but otherwise sounds okay, I would guess that you have a problem with the crossover.  In any case, the speaker is probably worth repairing if you like it.  The big cost in speakers is the cabinet, and that is obviously not damaged.
