$250.00 for everything - amp, pre, usb dac ...

I was shopping for some stuffs on Best Buy and came across a $250 Onkyo TX-NR686 that has pretty much everything. When I just graduated from college, it would probably have been my dream receiver. I haven’t had a receiver for a long time. Technology definitely gives you more stuffs. The only thing it doesn’t have is a phono input.

If I plugged it in my system, I don’t think the difference is "night and day" though.

I know what you mean. My 11 year old Onkyo HT receiver is awesome (I understand Onkyo QC started failing after my purchase which is sad). The only problem with my Onkyo is the radio has failed (I think). Used to work fine (analog AND digital receivers). This thing makes watching movies so exciting. I was wondering, when it dies or I purchase another modern receiver (Anthem), if I could find someone to transplant its power supply to a two channel chassis. The transformer must weigh 20 pounds or more on its own. Would be a shame to just toss it in a landfill.
