Non-Audiophile Audiophile question! Larsen might work for that situation.
Streamer for LTA Aero I understand your concern about possibly missing out on sound quality if certain tweaks aren’t applied, but I guess I have not heard that is necessary with the higher models of Innuos, or Aurender for that matter. Implied in my post, and based on ...
What exactly is PRaT??? Some have been mentioned, but are there some favorite tracks amongst the PRaT-ists (just having fun, relax), that are particularly good at demonstrating PRaT?
Preamp, Amp, Tone? You can certainly try an equalizer, which may give you what you want. I started with a Sonos Connect and added a DAC and eventually replaced the Sonos as well. The Port is probably better than the Connect, but my eyes were opened pretty wide when ...
Component matching expertise - how do you do it? I did not think that could be done, but excellent synopsis @ghdprentice . I fall into the musical category as well, so this made a lot of sense to me.
Streamer for LTA Aero I owned the Aurender N10 for awhile and the sound was excellent, however the user software was not my cup of tea. I also had opportunity to work with their support team, who were responsive, but not able solve my system issues. I switched to I...
What exactly is PRaT??? Thanks @soix , this is a bit of a mystery to me too, though I don’t doubt that it exists. Maybe it goes by other names, or feelings, when everything has that just right feeling.
???YOUR Personal Favorite???Why??? I can only say KEF Reference 1’s because that is what I have. I am open to new ideas though not sure what would beat them.
Do power bricks break in? I think everything requires a bit of break in, give it some time and try the comparison again.
Interconnect Break In? My experience is that it takes a minimum of three days for any cable change to settle in to the system and show it’s true character. Whether it is my brain or the cable I do not know, but it seems pretty consistent.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) Yes, good to hear your voice again @erik_squires , thanks for your comments. I have a lot of ideas based on this conversation, thanks for all the feedback.
Six DAC Comparison Many thanks for your excellent and even-handed reviews of these DAC’s, quite an undertaking. If you ever need a side gig you could join the glamorous world of audio reviewers.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) @total111 The Torus products look like a pretty sound product. @rick_n I had not heard of the Clarus, it seems decent as well, though maybe a little out of my price range when going beyond the Duet.
Magico speakers too clinical and fatiguing? Having heard so much in the trades about Magicos, I was interested to hear them at AXPONA. Shows are not ideal, I know, but I was underwhelmed. I heard plenty of other speakers that were much more to my liking, I guess it comes down to preference.
Audiophile Surge Suppressor (and nothing else) Some good recommendations here that I was not aware of, thanks. What brought me here? I have an aging Furman PFi 20 that hums, and I am trying out a Puritan PSM156, but that is not going too well. This made me think I should abandon it all and... |
