USB Cables: beginning the rabbit hole
Similar, I upgraded to a WireWorld platinum from a Transparent, big difference.
A little puzzled by my newly acquired Yamaha A-S801
I agree with @ghdprentice , that is the sound I expect from a Yamaha integrated. NAD is a good choice if you want more body and low end torque.
Xangsane Cryo OCC vs Sterling Silver XLRs
I am a fan of OCC cables, but I am a bit suspicious of any OCC copper claims on AliExpress. I am also starting to lean away from any silver plated copper, I think that is where the brightness comes. Pure silver is less of a problem, or not a probl...
New Innuos Pulse, need assistance.
I also see that the receiver has volume trim and an equalizer, turn the equalizer off and examine the volume trim. I also see that it will display the stream resolution, make sure it is showing what you expect from Tidal.
New Innuos Pulse, need assistance.
While a cable might help, I recommend Acoustic Zen for coax, and WireWorld Platinum for USB, my guess is that the upgraded streamer is uncovering the shortcomings of your DAC. Or, and this a stretch, you have excessive noise entering your system. ...
The Power Plant Regenerator debate drags on
I recently replaced a Puritan PSM156 with a P15. I agree with @jeffbij that it is an improvement, relaxed and smoother, is a good description. My goal was to have “Sunday night sound” all of the time, and I am pretty close to that with the P15. I ...
R2R next? Don't like ESS
I have been very satisfied with my Merason DAC. It uses a chip that combines the best of delta sigma and R2R conversion that results in a very analog sound. I had a Gumby and have tried the Yggy, Merason is my preference.
My Sonus Faber Amatis have weak bass even though I'm running ML 536s--800 w/ch into 4 ohms
It sure sounds like something is wired out of phase. Try reversing one set of speaker cables.
A cable too perfect?
@vthokie83  Which Neotech cable and connectors are you using? The right ones could be the solution, the wrong ones more of the same Sorry, I forgot to answer this question. I am using the NEMO-I3220 on this page: https://www.neotechcable.com/N...
soft dome versus hard dome tweeters
Following with interest. I have heard the same things about metal tweeters, yet I like the aluminum ones that I have. It has always confounded me when a speaker manufacturer crows about diamond tweeters. I understand beryllium and other exotics, b...
A cable too perfect?
@sfpeloton  Thanks for helping me with my decision to purchase the Audionet Amp 1 v2! I am really enjoying it. Good to hear, it is fantastic equipment. @barrysandy I've used AZ Absolute copper cables for many years. They are somewhat warm sou...
Retirement integrated amp for a “fiscal conservative”…..Part 1: I have a plan
Amps are a bit harder to audition under show conditions, however I think that your plan is solid. I attended AXPONA last year and while the easiest thing to audition at a show is speakers, there were some component manufacturers that stood out. Au...
speaker upgrade fever
Good move on the Pulsars, think that is the right choice, especially with the price.
A cable too perfect?
@gp4jesus Good advice under any circumstances, it seems to have a positive effect to reseat connections once in awhile. However, for my ears and system, it seems to take a few days for everything to sound totally right after reseating and cleaning...
Wattgate IEC does not fit tight.
I am continually frustrated by this issue, it is such a poor design. Any metal with high conductivity is too soft to maintain tension. Are there any vendors that spring load their plugs?
