Blues from the 50s/60s/70s A couple of very good sounding lp's that I have picked up over the past several months starting with the great old recording from Muddy Waters- The London Muddy Waters Sessions- an absolute must have for any Muddy fan and Blues fan in general. the...
Blues from the 50s/60s/70s Excellent post. I too love blues and am always looking for new finds. Rushton offered a very comprehensive list, some really great lp's. I also am a Muddy fan, Lost Tapes is another good one. Another vote for "Blind Pigs records (blindpigrecords.c...
What would you upgrade in this system? Save up for an addition.
How do you level your turntable? Dougdeacon has the answer to this. I have $500- worth of levels to install fine cabinetry and I always rotate 180 degrees and halve to find dead nuts. The ONLY way to find true level with a bubble.
Back to basics Static can be a source of pops and clicks
Album burrs on outside edge. I would avoid using any type sandpaper- the glued particles (sand) come loose from the paper and will promptly lodge themselves in the grooves of your new lp. I would get a sharpening stone, which comes in various grits, to remove the offensive ma...
Fight Farm, ordering boxing DVD ??? Try toeing your speakers in. If that doesn't work you are going to have to purchase some room treatments, isolation devices and for crying out loud get a descent power cord man.
What is your favorite material for loudspeakers? HDF (high density as opposed to medium) with laminate inside and out. Bracing is very important.
Wilson WP 7s and supertweeter You have definetly got to learn to relax and enjoy the music. If there is supposed to be air around the top end, the WP's will put it there.
Totem Mani 2 Signatures vs. Usher BE-718 Ernied44(one of the greatest college players)- Audiofeil has made no secret of his profession... and you??.. Could your professional interests jade your comments?
Totem Mani 2 Signatures vs. Usher BE-718 Audiofeils comments are accurate in my opinion. Last year at CES Usher was set-up in a room right next Totem. They won't make that mistake again. I felt that the BE 718 was a good speaker but a bit btight, somewhat "digital" sounding, understandab...
what are the thoughts of stand alone super tweeter What I'm trying to say is that music is like a sauce, when you add a little flavor to the cooler side it effects the taste of the whole sauce. It changes the overall perspective of the music, what you are hearing.
what are the thoughts of stand alone super tweeter I purchased a set of the LCY Super Tweets, added them to my Alon1's and they changed not only the upper freq's but the mids take on a whole new sense of depth. I have them pointed at a 45 degree angle to the speakers on top of the Alon's bass cabi...
Why do digital cables sound different? although a digi cable only trasmits "0" and "1" - a beat of music may take 10k digits so the pace and accuracy will imprint themselves to the dac which will convert these to differing sounds. A simple a/b of different cables will produce much diff...
Opinions on budget TT Plenty of info here on the KAB-Technics tables if you are looking for bang for the buck. It would fit nicely with your system. |
